MISSION STATEMENT

ALPS is a Lesbian social organization designed to bring together the women of Western North Carolina and surrounding areas, to build friendships, sponsor events, provide information, and be available as a welcoming resource to our community. We are not sup-ported by or affiliated with any political, social or religious organization. We welcome ALL lesbians to join, regardless of employment status.

Several of our active members are employed in positions which could be jeopardized if their employers learned of their ALPs membership and/or participation in ALPs activities.   Therefore, ALPs members agree to keep both the monthly newsletter and the ALPS Directory confidential.   In addition, ALPs events, such as our annual dance parties are publicized to members only, keeping the dates and location confidential.
