
ALPs has an all-volunteer Board which serves a 12 month term, beginning in June. A one year active membership in ALPS is a preferred for Board membership but not absolutely necessary. What is required is a commitment to the organization to help the organization meet its mission statement and to have FUN while doing it. The one year active membership assures a familiarity with the workings of the organization and more consistent adherence to the priorities of the membership. The ALPs Board consists of: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Newsletter Editor, Membership Coordinator and Website Manger.
Facilitates monthly meetings; acts as liaison and agent for all inquiries about ALPs; coordinates Board duties and assignments. Contact: Jen at drjen@drjenasheville.com
Assists the President as needed, and coordinates two annual ALPs sponsored events, usually dance parties. This position requires a two year commitment; the Vice President serves as President her second year. Contact: vice.president@alpsofasheville.org
Maintains a ledger of all ALPs income and expenditures; collects new and renewing member dues, and forwards member information to the Membership Coordinator; maintains a separate, ALPs-related bank account in her own name, and is responsible for the safety of ALPs monies. Produces the monthly ALPs newsletter (both on-line and paper versions); as needed, sends out special announcements of activities and events not available for inclusion in the monthly newsletter. Contact: newsletter.editor@alpsofasheville.org
Maintains and updates ALPs membership list (an excel file), using information obtained from the Treasurer; notifies members one month in advance of membership renewal date, sending one follow-up reminder, as needed.
