Sponsored Events - The Heart-Beat of ALPs

Sponsored Events are a wonderful way to meet other members and make new friends!

Here's how it works:

•  You mark the date on your calendar for the local arts festival you plan to attend;

•  You see a listing for a poetry reading at a local bookstore;

•  Your favorite group is giving a concert downtown;

•  You decide you want to hike in the National Park to see the fall colors;

Why not invite your ALPs sisters to join you?

It's easy!

You pick an event that is of interest to you (a concert, play, music festival) and invite your ALPs sisters to come along.   Or you can create your own event, such as hiking, bike riding, book club, art gallery exploration, art classes, etc.

You obtain or create the details of the event --- date, time, location, cost, meeting place, what to bring, etc., and either complete a Sponsored Event form (available at our monthly dinner meetings) or email the information to the Newsletter Editor in time for the next newsletter.   It works best if you follow the event format from previous newsletters. You can also stand up and announce the event/activity to those attending the dinner meeting.

How much does it cost to sponsor and event?

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

Why should you sponsor an event through ALPs?

As we said, it's a great way to make new friends! It gives you an opportunity to interact with other ALPs members in a more informal setting, allowing you to get to know them and them to get to know you better. And, you'll know that you have at least one thing in common: an interest in the event or activity you sponsored!

To get your event or activity in the next newsletter, email the information to alpsnewsletter@charter.net or complete a Sponsored Event form at the next dinner meeting, and give it to our Newsletter Editor.
