Policies and Procedures
ALPs Policies and Procedures may be changed at any time by a majority vote of the active membership. Active membership is defined as the total number of paid-up members at the time a vote is taken.
- Receive the monthly ALPs newsletter.
- Submit in writing or via email, and announce publicly at monthly meetings the following items for publication in the newsletter:
sponsored events,
social announcements, and
business information.
(ALPs reserves the right to refuse publication of anything defined as illegal under local, state or federal law.) - Attend the two annual ALPs sponsored dance parties free of charge.
- Dues collected will be used as follows:
- Space rental, sound system rental (as needed), DJ services and food/refreshments for two annual dance parties;
- Miscellaneous office expense, such as copying ALPs forms, copying and mailing monthly newsletters and other announcements to members with no email access;
- Monthly website fees.
An active member invites other active members and guests to join her for specific activities, i.e., dinner, hiking, bowling, concerts, theatre, wine tasting, sporting events. The "sponsor" provides details such as date, time, location, directions, meeting information, reservation information, and serves as primary contact person for the event.
An active member may announce items or events which she feels will be of interest to the group, but which she is not "sponsoring," such as, items for sale, employment opportunities, services available, apartment for rent, GLBT meetings, etc.
An active member may list the products and/or services she has available for other ALPs members.
Non-members are welcome to attend any monthly dinner meetings to learn more about our organization. Non-members may attend the annual dance parties as guests of an active member, and will be subject to a charge to cover expenses.
